Лъвската глава

    Лъвската глава  е невероятно природно творение, причудлив скален феномен, кацнал на едно от най-високите места в резерват Ропотамо. Дъхът ти спира, когато погледнеш как гордо се е изправил и зорко следи ленивия път на реката.

    Легенди за лъвската глава

    Има много легенди за „Лъвската глава“. Според една от тях на върха се намира дълбок кладенец, в който има затрупано голямо златно имане. Прочутият хайдутин Вълчан войвода подмамил турски кораб, пренасящ много злато в устието на реката, където го подпалил, а златото пуснал в кладенеца. Затова и калето, където се намира „Лъвската глава“, се нарича Вълчаново кале.

    Лъвската глава представлява скален феномен, който се намира в резерват Ропотамо. Образуванието, наподобяващо профил на спяща лъвска глава е разположено във високите части на резервата и може да се види по пътя Созопол – Приморско, както и при разходка с лодка по река Ропотамо. Скалната пирамида се свърза с името на Вълчан войвода и поради тази причина мястото е известно и под името Вълчаново кале. Преходът до върха на обявената на 13 май 1947 година природна забележителност се извършва по маркирана пътека. В резерват “Ропотамо” внимание заслужават много причудливите скални форми, разположени по протежението на реката и една от тях е “Лъвската глава” – скала, която наподобява реалистично главата на гигантски лъв, охраняващ чудния природен феномен. Огромната естествена каменна структура привлича веднага погледа на много туристи.

    Легендата разказва, че на върха на скалата има дълбок 30- метров кладенец, където е пуснато и затрупано златно съкровище. Години наред иманяри търсят скритото имане в скалите. Не са редки случаите, когато при вечерните курсове горе от Лъвската глава се виждат светлини. До скалите може да се стигне само по суша. Трябва обаче голямо търпение и завидни катерачески умения. А е и доста опасно, защото има много змии. Местни жители, които са ходили до върха, разказват, че горе има руини от стара сграда. Те са намерили големи каменни топки с абсолютно еднакви размери. Предполага се, че се използвали като катапулт за отблъскваме на нежелани посетители.
